The meaning of the alphabet mafia refers to LGBTQIA people. Originally coined by intolerant people who intended to mock the ever-growing and visible LGBTQIA (or LGBTTQQIAAP - lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual/aromantic, agender, and pansexual acronym), alphabet mafia has since been reclaimed by the very people who is was intended to disparage.
The people who created the term alphabet mafia intended to vilify non-heteronormative people by implying they were members of a secret, unsavory faction.
